It’s Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday.
We have some breaking news.
Hearing reports that it’s now May.
Will confirm ASAP.— JOE.ie (@JOEdotie) May 1, 2020
So we’ve established it’s Friday, 1 May, the only thing left to do is have a look at the movies on TV this evening.
Back to the Future Part III – Film4 – 4.45pm
A bit of fun.
Spy – E4 – 9pm
A really, really funny spy spoof starring Melissa McCarthy, Jason Statham, Rose Byrne and a few others.
Paul – ITV2 – 9pm
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost go to Area 51.
On Her Majesty’s Secret Service – ITV4 – 9pm
This gets an unfair rap. It’s certainly not the worst Bond movie ever made and I’d argue there’s at least 10 worse than it.
Taken 3 – Film4 – 9pm
Seriously, is no one thinking that at some point he’s just a bad father?
Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates – RTÉ2 – 9.45pm
Two brothers look for dates for their sister’s wedding. Once again, Zac Efron is very muscly.
Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son – Virgin Media One – 10pm
First one was cute. Second one was regrettable. Third was unforgivable.
The latter two movies have a combined 11% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The Magnificent Seven – TG4 – 10.15pm
1960s western which is well worth watching.
The Full Monty – BBC One – 10.45pm
Charming and relatable. Robert Carlyle and Mark Addy are brilliant.
Oranges and Sunshine – BBC Two – 11.20pm
Emily Watson plays a social worker who uncovers a terrible scheme involving British children.
LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
