movies on today

Choo Choo Tuesday…

It’s not quite midweek yet but we managed to get over Monday alright, so eh… well done on that.

Unfortunately, there’s no movies on Irish TV today but there’s a few on further afield, and we must say, it’s quality over quantity for sure.

Here’s the pick of what’s on.

The Maze Runner – Film4 – 6.50pm

Set in a dystopian future, a man wakes up with no memory and trapped in a maze.

I didn’t hate it.

Charlie Wilson’s War – Sky Atlantic – 9pm

More entertaining than the topic should be, while Tom Hanks and Phillip Seymour Hoffman are incredible when on screen together.

Step Brothers – Comedy Central – 9pm

“Why are you so sweaty?”

“I was watching Cops.”

Get Carter – ITV4 – 9pm

Personally, I wouldn’t usually associate Michael Caine with gritty, cold-blooded gangsters but he nails it here.

The Librarian 2: Return to King Solomon’s Mines – SyFy – 9pm

Don’t know much about this one, but it received a nomination for Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Sound Editing – Limited Series, Movie or Special.

So we know the sound editing is good.

Wind River – Film4 – 9pm

Starring Elisabeth Olsen and Jeremy Renner, a rookie investigator is called to investigate a murder on an Indian reservation.

Glacial pace at times but definitely worth your time.

The Missouri Breaks – ITV4 – 11.10pm

Marlon Brando and Jack Nicholson lead this western drama.

Sleepless – Film4 – 11.10pm

Some critics said Jamie Foxx phoned in this role, others said the whole movie was phoned in. Make of that what you will.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
