“Can’t you see… there ain’t no need to go outside. “

It’s Saturday. A day normally built for activities and leisure. But there’s a storm coming (already here), so there’s a few things on the box that might tickle your fancy.

Here are the best movies on TV today.

Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip – Virgin Media One – 1.40pm

There’s a lot of these movies now.

The Secret Garden – RTÉ2 – 1.35pm

“Quite amazing fantasy. I really loved the hero. He has done a great job. Acting as a women is tough, and he has done it in a beautiful way. Amazing humors through out. I would rate it as 8/10.” – Random Google Review

The Secret Life of Pets – RTÉ One – 6.35pm

The Big Big Movie on RTÉ this evening. Max is not very pleased when his master brings home another dog named Duke. But the pair must soon set their differences aside. A lot of fun.

Yes Man – ITV2 – 5.30pm

Jim Carrey just can’t say no to anything.

Home Alone – E4 – 6.50pm

Child gets left alone at Christmas while burglars try to break in. But said child is also a psychopath.

Jurassic World – ITV2 – 7.35pm

Just in case you haven’t seen it the 64 times it’s been on since Christmas.

Leap Year – Comedy Central – 9pm

Appropriate for the day that’s in it. Not sure the accent is forgivable though.

Ocean’s Thirteen – RTÉ2 – 9pm

The chemistry between all the stars in this makes it very watchable.

Angela’s Ashes – TG4 – 9.30pm

A beautifully told story based on the autobiography of Frank McCourt.

Cardboard Gangsters – Virgin Media One – 9.55pm

Irish movie directed by Mark O’Connor and starring John Connors.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
