movies on TV

It’s Wednesday.

We’re sad to bring you the news that there are no movies on Irish TV this evening so we’ve had to look a little further afield for our choices.

But then again, with an Ireland game to come later, a lack of movies may not be a huge deal for many.

Here’s the pick of the movies on TV later.

Home Again – Film4 – 6.55pm

A 2017 romcom effort starting Reese Witherspoon, Michael Sheen and Candice Bergen.

Woman leaves man, finds new man, old man shows up. Chaos.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri – Film4 – 9pm

A bereaved mother upset that the local police force haven’t done enough to catch the killer of her teenage daughter rents the three billboards on a back-road leading into her town, calling out their ineffectual investigation.

An excellent movie that’s powerful, heart-breaking and hilarious at different times.

Starship Troopers – ITV4 – 9pm

A cult classic. You can read more about the back story of the film here.

The Punisher – Sony Movie Channel – 10.55pm

Thomas Jane plays the punisher and John Travolta is the criminal that leaves him seeking vengeance.

Why Him? – Film4 – 11.20pm

Not Bryan Cranston’s best career decision, but you will get some laughs.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army – ITV4 – 11.35pm

Tremendous wit and invention from Guillermo del Toro, it’s definitely worth watching even if you haven’t seen the first one.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
