John Carpenter’s 1986 cult classic, Big Trouble in Little China, is set to get a modern remake with none other than Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson at the helm.
According to TheCinemachina.com, Big Trouble in Little China is The Rock’s favourite film, “so this project is basically a dream for him”. To be fair, the original movie didn’t do too great at the box office and only later found its cult classic status with home rentals.
Producing alongside Johnson is Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia, while X-Men: First Class writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz are set to pen the script.
We’re massive fans of The Rock here in JOE (in case you haven’t noticed), so we’re hoping the remake will be a classic off the bat.
