Only 73 minutes long, the film is basically a blend of End of Watch and the V/H/S franchise.

Bodycam, a cool new found footage horror thriller, has just been made available to stream at home.

Available to watch through the service Shudder, the movie centres on two police officers (Jamie M. Callica and Sean Rogerson) on late-night patrol who investigate reports of a domestic dispute.

Arriving on the scene, one of the cops gets into an altercation, which causes him to accidentally fire his weapon, resulting in fatalities.

"Not wanting to be crucified by the public, the officers attempt to cover it up, only to uncover that the cameras aren't the only things watching them," the plot synopsis adds.

Bodycam is the latest effort from director Brandon Christensen, who, in the past few years, has delivered several solid horrors for the streaming service Shudder. These include Night of the Reaper, Superhost and Z.

Told entirely through the body cameras that its central characters must wear on duty, Christensen's new movie plays out like Jake Gyllenhaal's beloved 2012 cop drama End of Watch, if it got crossed with a segment from the V/H/S horror franchise.

Less than 73 minutes in length without credits, Bodycam delivers quick thrills and chills as viewers are plunged into the night from hell with its lead cops, whose battle with the supernatural feels almost like a reckoning for trying to cover up the shooting.

While the film's short running time ultimately leads to its characters and its thematic ideas getting short shrift, its gritty immediacy, pacy energy and moments of nerve-rattling terror make for an undeniably gripping watch.
