Bone Lake, a very entertaining and stylish 2025 thriller movie, is now available to stream at home.
Accessible through the service NOW, the film follows Diego and Sage (Marco Pigossi and Maddie Hasson), a long-time couple whose relationship is in trouble.
Diego has just quit his job to pursue a full-time writing career, leaving Sage to be the sole breadwinner for the pair.
On top of the financial worries this presents, it's clear from the characters' interactions early on that they struggle to communicate openly with one another.
In an effort to add some spice back into their relationship, Diego and Sage rent a large lakeside country house for a romantic weekend getaway.
Upon arrival, however, they discover that the property has been double-booked, with another charismatic and friendly couple, Cin and Will (Andra Nechita and Alex Rose), also set to stay there.
The four decide to share the mansion for the weekend, setting the stage for this dream getaway to spiral into "a nightmarish maze of sex, lies, and manipulation".
Bone Lake holds an impressive 84% score on Rotten Tomatoes, and it's easy to see why.
The first two-thirds are wickedly entertaining and clever, as Diego and Sage's everyday relationship insecurities and tensions quickly intensify in the presence of the mysterious Cin and Will.
Even if Joshua Friedlander's script becomes less interesting as it enters its third act, bringing secrets into the light and transitioning from a relationship-focused thriller into more survival horror territory, director Mercedes Bryce Morgan's stylish, taut filmmaking keeps the energy levels high right up until the end credits.
While Bone Lake skipped UK and Irish cinemas, going straight to digital last November, we hope it finds a bigger audience through streaming.
