The film is a cult classic, even if it's definitely not for the squeamish.

Our TV movie pick for tonight (Monday, 29 June) is Bone Tomahawk, the incredible 2015 Western thriller.

Bone Tomahawk was the directorial debut of author S. Craig Zahler, who would go on to make the acclaimed cult thrillers Brawl in Cell Block 99 and Dragged Across Concrete.

Carrying over into cinema his novelistic skill for character and detail, his debut film begins as an exciting and often funny men-on-a-mission Western, before making a sharp turn in the final act into absolutely nerve-shredding horror.

Upon release, the movie received rave reviews from critics, as evidenced by its 91% score on Rotten Tomatoes. That said, the Western's latter section is definitely not for the squeamish.

Bone Tomahawk is airing on TV tonight/this morning on Film4 at 11pm.
