The film will tell of story of the aftermath of the tragedy on April 15, 2013…

Casey Affleck has reportedly agreed to star in and produce a new movie about the 2013 Boston Marathon Bombings called Boston Strong.

The film is to be based on the non-fiction book called Boston Strong: A City’s Triumph Over Tragedy which was written by journalists Casey Sherman and Dave Wedge in the aftermath of the tragedy last year.

The Hollywood Reporter says Affleck has signed for the role which has been adapted for the screen by Eric Johnson and Paul Tamsey who are the guys behind The Fighter. No release date has been revealed.

Affleck is from Massachusetts and has starred in films set in the area like Gone Baby Gone and Good Will Hunting.
