Celebrity Big Brother winner ‘couldn’t be happier’ that the show has been axed

Paul Moore

Celebrity Big Brother

He’s not alone.

Hard as it is to fathom, Celebrity Big Brother wasn’t always mired in controversy and D-list celebrities that are still desperately looking to cling onto their fame.

As you may know, the very first instalment was in 2001 and the show had a completely different format. In fact, it only ran for eight days and was mainly aired on the BBC to coincide with Comic Relief.

Throughout his career, Jack Dee has perfected the persona of being dry, sharp, sardonic. Basically, he’s good at making people laugh without really giving a shit.

Maybe that’s why he won the very first CBB because he cut through the crap and told it like it is.

On that note, the comedian was a guest on Loose Women on Tuesday morning and he said that he “couldn’t be happier” that Celebrity Big Brother had been axed.

“I won the first one, I did it for Comic Relief. After that, they started paying them, I could have done it and got money from it. Instead it all went to Africa. I was stuck in a house with Vanessa Feltz, and some other people, the boxer guy, Chris Eubank – I didn’t know who to be more scared of,” he said jokingly.

People might remember Dee’s famous escape attempt, and he also addressed that during the interview: “I ran away and ended up in Stratford East and thought it was worse than being in the house so I went back.”
