The Chase has drawn criticism for ill-timed question about The Prodigy

Such bad luck.

The Chase has an enduring popularity in Ireland built on the back of excellent host Bradley Walsh, some loveably annoying chasers, and a reliance on people's belief that they're smarter than the contestants on television.

The Chase is pre-recorded and can often be broadcast weeks or months after the episode is initially filmed, meaning that it's surely difficult to keep track of what questions are asked.

In a highly unfortunate turn of events, the episode of The Chase aired on Monday featured a question about The Prodigy, just a few hours after the death of the lead singer.

The question asked by host Bradley Walsh was: "Which of these chart acts has the fewest members?"

The possible answers were: A) The Prodigy, B) Pretenders or C) The Proclaimers.

Considering the show is pre-recorded, producers would likely have had no idea that the episode would be so poorly timed with the death of The Prodigy's frontman.

Tributes are continuing to pour in for the musician, who was found dead at his home in Essex over the weekend with Jame Blunt sharing a lovely story about him over Twitter on Monday.
