Chris Evans may have just accidentally revealed the next Marvel film

There’s no stopping the MCU.

With news that Black Panther is absolutely shattering box-office records – Ryan Coogler’s film already has the highest debut ever for a February film – things are looking very healthy for Marvel’s mighty accountant heroes.

All this without mentioning the fact that a little film called Avengers: Infinity War is coming later this year. That’s bound to make a ‘small’ bit of money when it’s released.

At present, audiences can’t get enough of T’Challa’s standalone adventure and after being introduced in Captain America: Civil War, it appears that the Black Panther has firmly established his position as an integral part of the MCU.

As mentioned previously, Thanos’ decision to find and wield The Infinity Gauntlet is going to keep The Avengers, The Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man and pretty much every other hero under the sun busy this summer, but what about the future of the MCU – you know, provided Thanos doesn’t succeed and destroy the world!

Well, Ant-Man and the Wasp has already released its trailer and Brie Larson is currently filming her take on the role of Captain Marvel. After that, we’ve got the sequel to Infinity War and Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3 in the works, but what’s coming next?

In a recent interview with ET Canada , Chris Evans appears to have confirmed what many people thought was going to happen, a standalone Black Widow film.

Since making her debut in 2010 with Iron Man 2, Natasha Romanov has been a key player in S.H.I.E.L.D and her best moments came in Captain America: Winter Soldier. The character’s chequered past was explored in Avengers: Age of Ultron and a standalone film has been talked about before – Marvel President Kevin Feige once said that the studio is “creatively and emotionally” committed to a solo outing for Black Widow.

A few weeks ago, it was announced that Jac Schaeffer was penning a script for the project but it’s worth stressing that nothing official has been approved just yet. Then again, if anyone knows what’s going on in the MCU, surely it’s Captain America?
