Christian Bale has gone full Christian Bale in preparation for his latest role

He is unrecognisable.

Christian Bale has undergone a transformation for his latest role and he looks like a completely different person. He was at a press conference at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, California for a different project, Hostiles, which is out at the end of the year. His new look is actually for another movie, Backseat, where he plays ex-Vice President Dick Cheney. With a shaved head and carrying more weight than usual, he looks so different. He is currently filming the new movie, which tells the story of Dick's life, along with Amy Adams and Steve Carrell. It's not the first time he has gained or lost weight for a role, having previously lost almost 60 pounds for his 2014 role in The Machinist and then quickly regaining the weight for his Batman role which followed, and then losing it all again for The Fighter, and then putting ever more weight back on for his role in American Hustle. For the sake of compare and contrast, here's a pic of Dick Cheney himself. How they looked at him and thought "You know who would be perfect to play him? Christian Bale...", we'll never know.
