I’ll happily watch The Holiday on repeat this Christmas
The holidays are getting closer. If like us you’ve already been watching cozy Christmas movies on Netflix then we’ve got good news for you.
According to science, watching Christmas films is good for your health.
That’s right, tuning into ‘Elf’ or sobbing over ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ can boost your well-being.
Watching Christmas movies is good for your health, science says
Festive movies boost our happy hormone- dopamine. These movies trigger that hormone that can leave us feeling happier and lighter.
“It does create that neurological shift that can produce happiness,” a psychologist has revealed to Today.
“I think anything that takes us out of our normal habituation, the normal day in, day out … signals our senses, and then our senses measure if it’s pleasing or not,” they shared.
Not only do they make you happier, but they also reduce stress levels and anxiety.
It makes a lot of sense though. Christmas movies are charming, merry, and full of joy.
We’d happily watch Christmas movies all year round, but saving them for the holidays does cheer you up.
Whether you’re a fan of the old-time classics like Miracle on 34th Street, or a major fan of the Hallmark films, whatever festive films you tune into this month will make you feel better.
Science says so.
If anyone needs me I’ll be watching The Holiday for the 20th time this winter.
