Cillian Murphy has given a few details about what to expect in Season 4 of Peaky Blinders

Paul Moore

For fans of the Cork actor, he gave a cracking interview on Today FM. The anecdote about Galway is great.

Without a doubt, the return of Peaky Blinders is one of the most eagerly anticipated TV events of the year and Thomas Shelby himself, the extremely talented Cillian Murphy, has provided a few details about what fans can expect.

In a superb interview with Dermot & Dave on Today FM, the actor said that Season 4 will see a return to “the roots” of the first two seasons.

When asked about the upcoming episodes, Murphy said “In the classic gangster arc, the last season (Season 3) was sort of all about the wealth, the house and all that material stuff. This season is sort of a return to the roots. That’s about as much as I can reveal.”

While Peaky Blinders is obviously a large part of Murphy’s career, the whole interview is a real treat for fans of the Batman Begins, Inception and 28 Days Later star.

Have a listen as he talks about his decision to move to London at a young age, an eclectic career that has incorporated roles on stage, screen and TV and why he still describes himself as a “failed musician.”

Oh yeah, he also shared a superb anecdote about an old lady that approached him in McDonagh’s chipper, Galway.

You can listen to the whole thing here. It’s definitely worth your time.
