CNN cancels Piers Morgan’s show due to poor ratings

"It was time for the show to end."

“It was time for the show to end.”

According to The Guardian, CNN head honcho Jeff Zucker told Piers Morgan that it “was time for the show to end” after Piers Morgan Live had yet again suffered heavily in the US ratings war.

Morgan, former editor of the Daily Mirror, took over broadcasting duties from living legend Larry King in 2011 but had been steadily losing viewers, with the past month seeing six of the show’s smallest 10 audiences since he took over in three years ago.

In an article with the New York Times, Morgan himself commented that “I am a British guy debating American cultural issues, including guns, which has been very polarizing, and there is no doubt that there are many in the audience who are tired of me banging on about it. That’s run its course and Jeff and I have been talking for some time about different ways of using me.”

The date of the last show has yet to be decided but fans of the Premier League will be devastated with the news as it unfortunately means that Morgan will now have waaaaaay more time to spend on Twitter trolling anybody who doesn’t support his beloved Arsenal.
