COMPETITION: Calling all Irish filmmakers… fancy winning a trip to LA?

Carl Kinsella

This is Done In 60 Seconds.

Directors, writers, actors… anyone with a camera and an imagination, now is your chance to break into the world of film.

Jameson’s Done In 60 Seconds competition invites anyone with with a smartphone to recreate their favourite film, with one stipulation – they whittle it down to no longer than 60 seconds.

For an example of what we mean, take a look at last year’s excellent winning entry, an abbreviated version of the 1984 comedy classic, Ghostbusters.

Details about the crackin’ competition can be found here, but all you have to do is upload your video to jamesonempireDISS.com before the January 30 deadline.

The prize itself is a pretty phenomenal: 5 finalists will be chosen to attend the Jameson Empire Movie Awards in London, where in front of a room of filmmaking royalty, they will get to pick up their Done in 60 Seconds Awards live on stage.

The winner will then travel to LA to attend the Festival of Filmmaking in July. Irish entries will be judged by director Jim Sheridan, as well as actors Eoin Macken and Kevin Ryan.
