Every once in a while JOE sees a film that we immediately know will become a comedy classic and Hot Rod is definitely in that category. If you ever wanted to know how to become a stuntman, or if you ever wondered if there’s a Tai-Chi move that makes people crap themselves or, most importantly, who would win in a fight between a grilled cheese sandwich and a taco, then this is the film for you.
Andy Samberg and his Saturday Night Live comedy group The Lonely Island, featuring Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone, have already conquered Hollywood and now they’re back for a new movie. The trio have been busy starring, writing and directing in other peoples’ features lately but, according to Empire, they are about to re-unite once more with Judd Apatow producing
The project doesn’t have a title yet, but the trio will co-write it and the story will be set in the music world.
JOE can’t recommend Hot Rod highly enough and a music setting is perfect for the lads’ latest venture, especially considering how many made classic songs they have already made like; Dick in a Box, Jizz in My Pants, I Just had Sex, Motherlover and this famous song.
