David Attenborough has a new nature show on the BBC and it’s coming this year

Paul Moore

Amazing news!

Fresh from the critical acclaim he received from Blue Planet II,  David Attenborough will return to our TV screens this year as the gifted broadcaster presents a new show, Dynasty.

The five-part series will air later this year on BBC One and each episode focuses on individual animals – lions, hunting dogs, chimpanzees, tigers, and emperor penguins – at the most critical period in their lives

The official synopsis reads: “Each is a ruler – a leader of their family, their troop, their pride – each determined to hold on to power and protect their family, their territory and their dynasty. The odds are stacked against them – our planet is changing at an extraordinary rate and the habitats these animals live in are under increasing pressure, not least from the impact of humanity itself.”

This series will show what an animal must do to create and maintain a dynasty, and leave the most important legacy in nature.

It’s clear that Attenborough’s popularity with viewers shows no signs of diminishing because the first episode of Blue Planet II was the most watched programme of 2017, drawing in an audience of more than 14 million viewers.

The gifted broadcaster is a very busy man though because he previously announced that he’ll also be working with Netflix on a new show about conservation for the online streaming giant.

He said, “Netflix want me to do something on conservation and have asked me to do it, and I’ve said I would. There are certain things that the BBC can do and can’t do, and I can see some reasons why to do a programme on Netflix rather than the BBC. But while the BBC ask me to do things that’s what I will do.”

Even more David Attenborough? We’re definitely on board.
