New sci-fi movie with 88% on Rotten Tomatoes finally sets release date

Starring an Irish actress, the film came out in the United States last August but has not yet been released this side of the Atlantic.

As his visions blur the line between dreams and reality, Sean's grip on his sanity unravels. With time running out, "he must confront his fears to escape his family's tragic legacy".

In February, JOE spoke to Bolger on the IFTA red carpet, where we asked her about the sci-fi.

In response, she told us: "That movie is incredible. Playing a role like that, with the Rustic Films [Benson and Moohead's production company] people, who did some of the most incredible sci-fi mind-bending projects you can possibly imagine… I think those filmmakers are very cool and they made just such a sleek sci-fi drama."

Horror streaming service Shudder has since confirmed that Descendant will get an Irish/UK release on the platform next month on 10 September.
