In February, JOE spoke to Bolger on the IFTA red carpet, where we asked her about the sci-fi.

In response, she told us: "That movie is incredible. Playing a role like that, with the Rustic Films [Benson and Moohead's production company] people, who did some of the most incredible sci-fi mind-bending projects you can possibly imagine… I think those filmmakers are very cool and they made just such a sleek sci-fi drama."

Horror streaming service Shudder has since confirmed that Descendant will get an Irish/UK release on the platform next month on 11 September.
