It comes from the director of Netflix's hit horror show The Haunting of Hill House.
Welcome to #TrailerChest, where we're taking a sneak peek at the brand new trailer for Doctor Sleep.Plot's it all about?
Set 40 years after the events of The Shining, we see that now adult Danny Torrence (Ewan McGregor) is still filled with that same psychic power he had as a child.
When he crosses paths with a young girl (newcomer Kyliegh Curran) who possesses the same power, he attempts to protect her from The True Knot, a cult which preys on young psychics in an attempt to live forever.
All of this may wind up with Danny revisiting the Overlook Hotel, and all of the horrific events that took place there as a child.
Based on the hit bestseller by Stephen King (who famously hated Stanley Kubrick's adaptation of his original novel), this sequel does look like it is paying a lot of homage to that first movie, while writer/director Mike Flanagan (Gerald's Game, Ouija: Origin Of Evil, The Haunting Of Hill House) packs things out with all manner of scares.
Plus, it is released here on Halloween. Perfect spooky viewing!
