Well… that’s unexpected.

US President Donald has apologised for retweeting a number of anti-muslim videos tweeted by the British far right.

In November, Trump retweeted three videos posted by the deputy leader of Britain First, Jayda Fransen.

He told Piers Morgan, the host of ITV’s Good Morning Britain, that he had known little of the group when he retweeted the videos and that he was willing to apologise for the mistake.

“If you are telling me they’re horrible people, horrible, racist people, I would certainly apologise if you’d like me to do that,” he told the presenter Piers Morgan.

“I know nothing about them and I know nothing about them today other than I read a little bit,” he said. “Perhaps it was a big story in Britain, perhaps it was a big story in the UK, but in the United States it wasn’t a big story.

Morgan interviewed Trump on Thursday at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland where Trump will speak on Friday.

The full interview will air on ITV at 10pm but some clips were played on Good Morning Britain on Friday.
