Dublin bar to host Peaky Blinders-themed Halloween party with bookies, burlesque and tarot cards

Paul Moore

Peaky Blinders party

Your Halloween plans are sorted… by order of the Peaky Blinders.

During a recent interview with JOE ahead of the Season 5 premiere of Peaky Blinders, Cillian Murphy talked about how surreal he finds it that the show has entered the cultural zeitgeist and is genuinely a pop culture phenomenon.

“I am amazed, yeah. I can’t really fathom it,” he said.

“There are people with full back tattoos of Tommy Shelby. I would suggest buying the DVD boxset instead! We never expected that level of cultural connection. The fact that it has really plugged into something is great though. People have Peaky Blinders weddings, it’s all a bit surreal.”

Well, if you can’t quite commit to a Peaky-themed wedding, The Back Page in Dublin have the next best thing; they’re dedicating their Halloween celebrations to the beloved gangster drama.

The event’s official listing states that everyone is invited “to party like it is the 1920s at The Peaky Backer, Sunday 27 October. 1920s attire is very encouraged – think flapper dress, cloche hat, or short jacket suits, waistcoats. Of course, the flat cap is essential”.

It appears that the organisers are embracing their inner Tommy Shelby as guests will be able to place a few bets on the horses via the Shelby Bookmakers and enjoy live entertainment with magicians, a tarot card reader, palm readers, burlesque, raffle and casino fun tables available.

Live music and DJs will also be on hand for the enjoyment of those in attendance.

If this sounds like something that would interest you, reservations can be made here.
