Ellen DeGeneres to host the 2014 Oscar ceremony

*cue the obligatory crazy Ellen dance onto stage*

The American funny-lady has just been confirmed as the host for 2014 Oscars and, although we’re huge fans of last year’s host Seth McFarlane, DeGeneres is most definitely a great replacement.

Hosting the ceremony back in 2007 made the talk-show host the first ever openly gay person to take the helm of the award show and, in her true funny style, Ellen confirmed the good news today with this Oscar speech-style tweet:

As Ellen said in her previous Oscar appearance, she always had a dream to host the Academy Awards but never had a dream to win an actual Academy Award. So what’s her advice for kids watching out there?

Aim lower.
