The 35-year-old wed her partner of almost five years in an intimate ceremony at Islington Town Hall on Friday, 21 August, she told British Vogue.

The date took some working out: Lynch consulted an astrologist during the planning and settled on 21 August after 22 August proved unavailable, and after being advised to steer clear of the solar eclipse.

She wore a vintage skirt found by her stylist with a Moira Hughes corset from Ellie Sanderson.

Skinner, who is French, opted for green corduroy tailoring from Suit Supply with Rothy’s shoes made from recycled plastic bottles, a nod to his environmentalism.

The couple’s dog Malo appeared in the pictures Vogue published.

"When we started the wedding planning process, I was a bit disparaging of it all. It’s so over the top," said the Co Louth actress to British Vogue.

"It’s so lavish. But as we’ve gotten closer to it, I’ve realised how unique and special it is."

Lynch made her film debut in Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix in 2007, having been a pen pal of JK Rowling long before she was cast.

She has kept working since the series wrapped in 2011, with credits including My Name Is Emily and G.B.F., plus television appearances in Sinbad and Dragon Striker.

She joins a busy summer for Irish screen talent, from Caitríona Balfe to Barry Keoghan’s latest Irish film.

The wedding was reported by RTÉ Entertainment on Tuesday.

Of her husband’s outfit, Lynch said: “A lot of people questioned wearing corduroy in August but Den would not be deterred.”
