Even before Thanos clicked his fingers and wiped out half of the earth, film fans already knew that Ant-Man and The Wasp, Captain Marvel, Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3, and Spider-Man: Far From Home (that title was only recently announced) were next up on the Marvel slate.
We've previously discussed what the ending of Infinity War might mean for the future of the MCU - here's our take on the post-credit scene, *that* peculiar scene with Thanos and Gamora and what's coming next for Avengers 4 - but it appears that one character is guaranteed to return to the MCU.
Samuel L. Jackson has posted this image to Instagram and it appears that he's in the UK and working on the next Spider-Man film.
As you can see below, he's tagged his location as Watford so we're assuming that he's with the rest of the Spider-Man crew at Leavesden Studios.
Granted, we know that Fury has a role in Captain Marvel but that film is set in the '90s and production has just wrapped.
This image below is the first indication that Fury will return to the MCU following Thanos' mass genocide of the planet because we're assuming that the next Spider-Man film will be set after the events of Homecoming and Infinity War - after all, it would be such a shame not to see Spidey using that new suit.
Ok, it's plausible that these apparent scenes with Fury in Spider-Man: Far From Home could be a flashback or some sort of pre-recorded video message that's left for Peter Parker, but we'd bet our left eye that he'll be featuring.
As for the hashtags? Well, #Cantkeepagoodmandown and #deliriouslyfurious are pretty telling to us.
