Graham Linehan has tweeted his concern at protests over Channel 4’s upcoming Famine sitcom.
The man who wrote Father Ted, along with Arthur Mathews, is not happy that people have seen fit to protest against the new comedy, which focuses on the Irish potato blight of the mid-19th century.
Given the controversy Linehan attracted over his own comedy about three Irish priests living on an island off the west coast of Ireland, it’s not surprising to see him stand up for the new project.
I apologise on behalf of sensible Irish people for the idiots protesting the famine sitcom outside C4 today. Down with that sort of thing
