We finally know when True Detective Season 3 will air

Carl Kinsella

True Detective

We’ve waited long enough.

Not everybody loved the second season of True Detective, but the show’s first season (starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson) was nothing short of a masterpiece.

Fans of crime drama will be hoping for a return to that level of quality from the show’s third season.

Earlier on Thursday, it was revealed that fans won’t have to wait much longer for their fix. The third season of True Detective is set to air on January 13.

This time around, Mahershala Ali stars as Wayne Hays, a state police detective from Northwest Arkansas. Carmen Ejogo and Stephen Dorff also star. Dorff will play Roland West, an Arkansas State Investigator. Ejogo will play Amelia Reardon, an Arkansas schoolteacher with a connection to two missing children in 1980.

This time around Harrelson and McConaughey will serve as executive producers on the show — alongside Cary Joji Fukunaga, Steve Golin, Bard Dorros, Richard Brown and the show’s creator Nic Pizzolatto.

The trailer will make you wish it was January 13 tomorrow.
