FOOTBAWL! The trailer for Kevin Costner’s new NFL drama looks cheesy and great

The first trailer has been released for Draft Day, one of the 7348 films that Kevin ‘whadda ya mean do I need the money’ Costner is set to release in 2014.

Here at JOE HQ we’re pretty big fans of the NFL, Ghostbusters and The Bodyguard, so you can just imagine our excitement when we heard about the upcoming release of Draft Day directed by Ivan Reitman and starring Kevin Costner.

According to the film’s official blurb, Draft Day is (unsurprisingly) centred around the day of the NFL Draft, “when general manager Sonny Weaver (Costner) has the opportunity to save football in Cleveland when he trades for the number one pick. He must quickly decide what he’s willing to sacrifice in pursuit of perfection as the lines between his personal and professional life become blurred on a life-changing day for a few hundred young men with dreams of playing in the NFL.”

Co-starring Jennifer Garner, Dennis ‘I show my fist to everyone in every scene’ Leary and the always excellent Frank Langella, the trailer for Draft Day is packed to the rafters with incredibly cheesy and meaningless American sporting drama lines like “I just want the team that I want,”  “let’s get busy,” “you’ve gone rogue,” “who you pickin'” and, “are these my feet?”

OK, so we may have added in the last line in ourselves.

And JOE’s favourite bit of the trailer? The moment an old lady turns up to school somebody younger in the art of using Twitter. IT’S FUNNY BECAUSE OLD PEOPLE SHOULDN’T KNOW HOW TO USE MODERN TECHNOLOGY HA HA HA.
