Freddie Prinze Jr.: Kiefer Sutherland almost drove me to quit acting after ’24’ experience

The former teen heart-throb's time on 24 wasn't the best.

The former teen heart-throb’s time on 24 wasn’t the best.

We’ve always liked Kiefer Sutherland, as like us he enjoys a pint or six and has never been shy about being a bit work shy, which is why we’re hardly surprised that he almost drove Freddie Prinze Jr. into an early retirement.

For those unfamiliar with old Freddie, he did a fine line in teenage slasher movies back in the day and went on to marry Buffy. You know the lad we’re talking about.

Well, he didn’t enjoy working with Kiefer Sutherland one little bit when they filmed 24 together in 2010.

He told ABC News: “I did 24, it was terrible. I hated every moment of it.

“Kiefer was the most unprofessional dude in the world. That’s not me talking trash, I’d say it to his face. I think everyone that’s worked with him has said that.

“I went and worked for Vince McMahon at the WWE for Christ’s sake and it was a crazier job than working with Kiefer.”

And now for the cheap shot…

“But, at least he was cool and tall. I didn’t have to take my shoes off to do scenes with him, which they made me do. Just put the guy on an apple box or don’t hire me next time. You know I’m 6 feet and he’s 5’4.”

Sutherland responded diplomatically to Prinze Jr.’s accusations.

“Kiefer worked with Freddie Prinze Jr more than five-years-ago and this is the first he has heard of Freddie’s grievances.

“Kiefer enjoyed working with Freddie and wishes him the best,” he lied.
