Game of Thrones star Lena Headey recalls the moment a journalist was an absolute prick towards her

Paul Moore

Don’t mess with Queen Cersei.

Throughout the entirety of Game of Thrones, Cersei Lannister has been a force to be reckoned with. Despite the fact that she’s one of the most hated, loathsome and sinister characters in the show, it’s impossible not to love her strength, determination and ability to overcome any setback.

A large part of why everyone ‘loves to hate’ Cersei is due to Lena Headey’s wonderful performance as the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms.

Ruthless, cunning and colder than a White Walker, Queen Cersei is a joy to behold.

Truth be told, we were absolutely delighted to see her nominated for an Emmy in the category of best supporting actress in a drama because she’s consistently brilliant in the show.

In real life, Headey definitely doesn’t share Cersei’s disdain for other people though because the star of Dredd and 300 has spent a lot of her spare time working for various different charities and NGOs.

With this in mind, it’s clear that Headey is an extremely conscientious person that wants to help others, so why this particular journalist decided to take some very nasty and personal shots at the actress is beyond us.

Over the weekend, a recent clip of Headey’s recent appearance on Running Wild With Bear Grylls was recirculated and after being asked a question about her attitude towards press junkets, the actress recalled the moment when a journalist was, well, an absolute prick to her – while she was seven months pregnant.

“How are you with the press?” Grylls asked Headey while they were resting down and resting.

“I’m horrible. Yeah, you have to do these things for all the awards and everything where loads of people interview you. I went in and was seven months pregnant and [there was] a whole room of journalists, and this guy stood up and he said, ‘Uh I just want to say that you’re really disappointing in real life. And he went, ‘Is that your real hair? And I went ‘Yeah’ and he said, ‘The wig is much better. I like you as a blonde.'”

Headey said that she felt “crushed” after that remark and truth be told, we think The Mountain should hunt down this hack and take revenge.

You can see that particular segment from 4:10 onwards.

FYI, if anyone is ever mean to Lena Headey in future, we hope that they get their comeuppance.
