Listen to JOE’s brand new GOT reaction show, The North Awaits, with Michael Fry & Carl Kinsella right here.
Even for Game of Thrones, this is cold.
In the Season 8 premiere of Game of Thrones, Arya Stark asks Jon Snow how he managed to survive a knife through the heart.
“I didn’t” was Jon’s typically gruff and honest reply but after seeing the most recent episode in Game of Thrones, it’s clear that Jon actually doesn’t have a heart.
Ok, we know that he’s in love with Daenerys and that Jon’s prepared to sacrifice his life to save The North – both signs that he has a soul – but we still think that a part of Jon’s heart is colder than a White Walker.
After all, how else can you explain why he refused to hug Ghost in the Winterfell courtyards?
Ygritte was right, he knows nothing.
Ok, we’re joking but come on, Ghost deserved a hug at the very least!
Throughout the history of Game of Thrones, we’ve seen the badass direwolf do all of the following; threaten a Night’s Watch soldier that was bullying Sam, alert Jon that a wight is attacking Castle Black, save Sam from a wight when they ventured beyond The Wall, kill Rast at Craster’s Keep, and murder a Thenn during the wilding invasion of Castle Black.
All this without mentioning the fact that the loyal animal stayed by Jon’s side after those mutinous members of the Night’s Watch stabbed their Lord Commander in the chest.
When Jon retuned from the dead, Ghost was the first person that he saw.
In recent weeks, we also saw the direwolf defending Winterfell from the army of the dead.
Ghost is tough, loyal, brave.
Basically, he’s everything that you could possibly want from a furry friend and it’s a toss up between him and Drogon for the award of best animal/mystical creature in Game of Thrones.
If you’re looking for some comfort, at least we now know that Ghost will be travelling further north with Tormund but plenty of fans were not impressed by how Jon said goodbye to this very good boy.
Ghost deserved better and plenty of people agree.
Me at the opening of Episode 804: “Yay Ghost is alive and Jon loves him. Give him all the treats!”
Me at the end of the episode: It should have been Jon, not Missandei. pic.twitter.com/uApBf45x1x

There’s still hope that Ghost will get the sendoff he deserves.
