Game of Thrones star reveals the two scenes that he finds ‘very disturbing’

Can’t argue with these picks. What a show!

Still haven’t seen Game of Thrones? Ok, each to their own. We’re not going to pass judgement but we will offer you a spoiler alert warning.

Go have a glass of wine instead.

Ok, over the years we’ve seen a variety of freaky and horrific stuff unfold in Westeros…how we love it!

The long list includes; people getting massacred at their own wedding, pregnant women being stabbed in the stomach, throats slit, eyeballs gouged out of the sockets, axes being lodged into the head, babies being turned into White Walkers, incest – so much incest, people being burned alive, people having their skin torn off.

Basically, it’s all good. In fact, it’s all great.

While Game of Thrones fans have a stomach that’s stronger than Valyrian steel, it appears that there are some scenes that are even too extreme for Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) to watch.

As stated previously, we’re massive fans of the Kingslayer because his character arguably has the most interesting arc throughout the show. After making his name as one of the most ferocious killers in the realm, it appears that there are some scenes that still haunt Coster-Waldau.

In an interview with Variety, the actor said he had to turn away when nine-year-old Shireen Baratheon was burned alive.

Yep, her screams are still a bit too raw for us too.

Nobody will ever forget that moment when Stannis ‘Father of the Year’ Baratheon sacrificed his only daughter to the lord of Light.

“For me there’s two moments that stand out – Shireen being burned at the stake I thought was just cruel. I mean it made sense story-wise and I understand why they did it. But I just couldn’t watch it and it was difficult to even read it,” he said.

As for the other one, Coster-Waldau explained: “It was very disturbing when [Robin Arryn] was still being breastfed when he was 7. It was so weird and wrong on every level.”

Yep. A million times yep.

Hell, if something is even too freaky for the man that plays Jaime Lannister, you know it must be bad because after all…
