Game of Thrones star teases a twist that ‘nobody saw coming’ in Season 8

Paul Moore

Game of Thrones Season 8

“It’s going to be the best season of TV anyone has ever seen.”

He drinks and he knows things.

Ok, we’re not sure if Peter Dinklage constantly knocks back pints when he’s not working but we do know that Tyrion himself is privy to a few secrets.

While promoting his new HBO movie, My Dinner with Hervé, the Emmy Award-winning actor was asked about Season 8 of the world’s most beloved show.

The last time we saw Tyrion was when he had that forlorn face after seeing Jon Snow enter Daenerys’ bedroom at the end of Season 7. Granted, the King in the North will probably have a worse expression on his face after realising that he’s after sleeping with his aunt, but that’s just one facet of intrigue for the final six episodes.

With news that the duration of every single episode in Season 8 is set to be feature-length, we’re absolutely pumped to see how things will play out in the Seven Kingdoms.

“I think it’s going to be the best season of television anyone has ever seen. It takes you to a place that you never saw coming, that I didn’t see coming and just, yeah, be prepared. It’s a fun ride,” said Dinklage.

In a separate interview with Entertainment Tonight, the star of Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri praised the standard of the writing on the final season.

“There are no better writers in television than [showrunners] Dan Weiss and David Benioff. They ended it brilliantly. Better than I could have imagined and you people are in for it. It ends beautifully for my character, whether it be tragic or not,” he said

Mmm, does this mean that Tyrion will end up on the Iron Throne? After all, that’s what Kit Harington wants but then again, unlike the youngest Lannister, he knows nothing.

All will be revealed when Game of Thrones returns in 2019.
