Need a movie to watch tonight? Well, Prime Video has just added 52 big ones to its service.

Meanwhile, JOE has compiled 15 of the best scary films available to watch on Netflix right here.

However, for more movies, here is what is on TV this Tuesday evening.

Paranormal Activity – Horror Xtra – 9pm

The acclaimed found footage horror which is reportedly the most profitable film ever made based on return on investment.

Mile 22 – Film4 – 9pm

A poorly cast Mark Wahlberg leads this action thriller that is essentially Sicario but much sillier and nowhere near as good.

The Wall – Legend – 9pm

Aaron Taylor-Johnson and John Cena star in this war thriller as two American soldiers trapped by an Iraqi sniper.

American Pie: The Wedding – Comedy Central – 9pm

The third film in the raunchy comedy franchise.

Tina – Sky Showcase – 9pm

An acclaimed 2021 music documentary following the life and career of musician Tina Turner. You can check out JOE’s interview with its directors right here.

Bushwick – AMC UK – 9.55pm

This decent action thriller focuses on a combat veteran (Dave Bautista) and a college student (Brittany Snow) who form an unlikely alliance during the invasion of their Brooklyn neighbourhood by a mysterious, heavily armed militia.

Forest Whitaker in Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai, our pick for tonight

Ghosts of War – Legend – 10.50pm

In this 2020 horror, five American soldiers assigned to hold a French Chateau near the end of World War II encounter a supernatural enemy.

The Real Charlie Chaplin – Film4 – 10.50pm

Another documentary, except this time about the legendary actor and filmmaker Charlie Chaplin.

Saw III – Sky Max – 11pm

With the 10th edition in the Saw franchise currently in cinemas and earning the horror franchise’s best reviews yet, what better time to revisit this third entry in the series.

The Place Beyond the Pines – BBC Two – 11.15pm

Rocking the same bleach blonde hair he’d later rock in Barbie, Ryan Gosling stars – alongside Bradley Cooper – in this excellent crime drama as a motorcycle stunt rider who supports his family through a life of crime.

Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai – AMC UK – 11.30pm

Last but not least is our pick for tonight, this 1999 crime drama starring Oscar winner Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland).

He plays a Mafia hit man who goes by the name ‘Ghost Dog’ and models himself after the samurai of old. However, he finds himself targeted for death by the mob when one of his assignments does not go to plan.

Written and directed by arthouse darling Jim Jarmusch (Coffee and Cigarettes, Down by Law, Paterson), Ghost Dog blends elements from gangster and samurai movies – stripping both genres to their barest and most stylish essentials.

Adding to the hip vibe is the soundtrack by the Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA, while Whitaker’s quiet and soulful lead turn makes the film surprisingly emotional.

You can check out a trailer for Ghost Dog – which does not appear to be available for rent in Ireland – right here:
