The lads from Louth got everyone talking.
TV viewers that love watching their fellow TV viewers were absolutely delighted to see the return of Gogglebox Ireland on Virgin Media One and once again, we got a hilarious and heartbreaking insight into the stories that move Irish people.
Aside from chats about the X Factor, the absence of Michael Tea Higgins, and a fairly gross segment featuring the work of Dr. Pimple Popper, viewers absolutely loved the lads from Louth – Michael, David and Gerry – as they talk over two very different TV shows.
To begin with, they hilariously toiled through the strange charm of Irish Paint Magic – Series 19. Yep, they made 19 seasons.
Truth be told, you couldn’t help but laugh along with their frustrations as they delivered lines like ‘Is he just reading the letter for the whole show?,’ He’s looking good, he’s got the colour of the sky right anyway!’ and ‘Jaysus, 19 series of this!’
This segment was good, what followed was brilliant.
Okay be honest, who’s immediately gonna binge series 1 – 18 of Irish Paint Magic after this? #GoggleboxIRL pic.twitter.com/iTR6sUHb0I

Their reaction to a heartbreaking story from The Town – Virgin Media One’s new documentary series – was all that people talk about as the show ended.
In case you missed both shows, The Town documents various people in Portlaoise as they recount and recall the stories that shaped their lives.
One story revolved around Richie, Julieka, and their son Denis Sadly, Denis died by suicide at the age of 19.
“Part of me died that day and there’s a hole in my heart that’s never going to heal but but I don’t blame Denis. I love him to bits and if I could have just rolled back the clock and called him that morning then maybe..even for me to talk to him..that might have just changed his mind,” said Julieka.
To his immense credit, Richie ran the Dublin marathon to raise funds for Pieta House and to honour the memory of his son.
After this heartbreaking segment aired, David – the man from Louth that’s watching on – openly spoke about his own depression and how men refuse to talk about their own issues and feelings.
David said that he quit football due to depression before saying: “Nobody talks about it. I guarantee that between the three of us, one of us has had a problem. I guarantee that we’d never speak about it to each other.”
After the episode ended, plenty of people were full of praise for this very candid and honest moment.
Laughs, heartbreak and genuine emotion. Welcome back Gogglebox.
