Gogglebox UK has announced that one of its stars, Andy Michael, has sadly passed away at the age of just 61 following a short illness. Michael had been a mainstay of the hugely popular show, appearing in its very first episode back in 2013. In a tweet, the show said: "We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Gogglebox star Andy Michael at the age of 61 following a short illness. "Our thoughts are with his family at this time. Andy will be truly missed by the entire Gogglebox family, cast and crew." A statement read that he passed away "with his family by his side." https://twitter.com/C4Gogglebox/status/1431210180059049984 Channel 4 said: "We are so saddened to hear of the loss of Gogglebox star Andy Michael. Our love and thoughts are with Andy’s family and friends." https://twitter.com/Channel4/status/1431210776111501314 The news comes just days after another of the show's stars, Mary Cook, died at the age of 92. Earlier this year, Pete McGarry, who also featured regularly on the show, passed away.
