We're not entirely sure which is sadder: having to wait who knows how long before Season 8 arrives (there is still no confirmed release date), or knowing that when it arrives, it will be the last one, and we'll have to make do with nothing but repeats and memories.
Sure, there's all that talk of the spin-offs in the works (no less than FIVE of them), and we can live in hope that they'll measure up to the original, but when has a prequel ever been as good as the original?
Anyways, while we all wait for the beginning of the end, the good folks at Game Of Thrones have put together a 45-minute animated story, detailing the thousands of years of history that made and shaped Westeros as we know and love it today.
Narrated by Harry Lloyd (aka Viserys Targaryen), the full film will be packaged with the Blu-Ray/DVD box-set of the seventh season of Game Of Thrones, but you can check out the four-and-a-half minute first chapter - "Valyria’s Last Scion: House Targaryen" - in the clip below.
