A great advert, for the day that’s in it.
As you may be aware, today is 2 February.
For some it is marking the first few days of a new month, after a January that felt like it would never end.
And for fans of a certain classic Bill Murray movie, it’s Groundhog Day.
And for the day that’s in it, Murray has reprised his role as Phil Connors for a Superbowl commercial.
Phil is once again trapped in a time loop, just as he is in the movie, forced to relive the same day and same encounters with Ned Ryerson over and over again.
In the commercial however, there’s one major difference – the presence of a Jeep.
Because he has the Jeep, he is able to go on a number of adventures, ignoring his enemy Ned Ryerson, and taking the Punxsutawney groundhog with him on his travels.

Ah, yes. That brings back the memories. We feel like we’ve seen that movie over and over again. Well, that’s kind of the point I guess.
We reckon it will be one of many high-profile adverts that air during tonight’s Superbowl, which kicks off at 11.30pm Irish time.
