The guys of Transformers: The Last Knight talk to JOE about explosions, Michael Bay and wrap parties

Rory Cashin

“It’s not even worth memorising your lines, because you never say those lines…”

Despite costing $260 million to make, Transformers: The Last Knight is still a pretty fluid production, with the actors and crew not entirely sure what Michael Bay has in store for them that day.

With the new movie in Irish cinemas now, we got to sit down with the cast of the movie (check out our chats with Mark Wahlberg here if you haven’t already), and what it’s like to work with a Hollywood heavyweight like Michael Bay.

First up is Josh Duhamel, who we think has now worked on screen more times with Bay than any other actor. He’s involved in one of the biggest and most complicated stunts in the movie – one he calls the most dangerous stunt he’s ever done – so we had to ask… how does he survive? Does he actually have a bit of a death wish to keep going to the man who puts him harms way soooo much??

We also chatted to Jerrod Carmichael, a big hit on the stand-up comedy circuit in America, and who you might recognise from the Bad Neighbours movies.

With this being his first big blockbuster, who talks about “being summoned” by Bay, what wrap parties are like on a production of this size, the pros and cons of Irish drinking versus English drinking, and how Donald Trump might just be the funniest person alive… accidentally.
