The two-time Oscar nominee was airlifted to hospital.

Hollywood star Jeremy Renner is said to be in “critical but stable” condition following an incident that occurred at the weekend.

A representative for Renner, who is best known for playing Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, confirmed to US media that the actor suffered injuries from a “weather-related accident while plowing snow”.

“His family is with him, and he is receiving excellent care,” the representative added.

The Hollywood Reporter states that on Sunday morning (1 January), the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office near Reno in Nevada was called to Renner’s residence in the area of Mt. Rose Highway.

“Upon arrival, deputies coordinated with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for medical transport of Mr. Jeremy Renner via care flight to a local area hospital,” public information officer Kristin Vietti told the outlet.

“Mr. Renner was the only involved party.”

The Hollywood Reporter also said that the circumstances of the incident are being looked into.

Along with playing Hawkeye in the MCU, the 51-year-old actor has been nominated at the Oscars twice for his roles in the acclaimed films The Hurt Locker and The Town.

He has also appeared in two Mission: Impossible movies, as well as 28 Weeks Later, American Hustle, Arrival, The Bourne Legacy and Wind River.
