You can’t beat a good old Bank Holiday Monday.

Even in these unprecedented times, it’s nice to have a random day off thrown into the mix.

And as we’ve said a billion times over the past few months, we really will take what we can get at this stage.

So why not settle in on the couch and watch a movie this evening?

Here’s what we’re dealing with:

The Mask – 7pm – Comedy Central

Jim Carrey at his most ridiculous best in this whacky comedy.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring – 8pm – Sky One

The first of The Lord of the Rings movies, and an epic adventure that everyone should watch in their lives.

A Quiet Place – 10pm – Film4

A magnificent horror film about murderous monsters who can not see you, but can only hear you. A sequel is ready and finished too, but has not been released thanks to Covid.

Anchorman 2 – 10.35 – TG4

Anchorman 2 is a really good, really funny movie, and we will not hear otherwise.

Carlito’s Way – 11.20pm – ITV4

Al Pacino is just the best. He really is the best.

Rocky – 00.10am – TCM

If you’re staying up late, you may be interested in watching one of the greatest sports movies of all time, and perhaps the best underdog story ever told. It’d make for some nice motivation going into the new week anyway…

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
