Hey Arnold! could be making a comeback

Paul Moore

Hey Arnold

You probably spent hours watching this.

With news that Kenan & Kel, The Mighty Ducks, Looney Tunes and ALF are set to return, it appears that we’ve all walked into a time machine of ’90s nostalgia that’s been kicked into overdrive.

Yep, get the Sunny D, tamagotchis and pogs ready because Hey Arnold! might be the next show to get a reboot.

Nickelodeon’s classic cartoon hasn’t had a new season since 2004 but the studio has released a few films that have kept Arnold and the gang in the pop-culture window.

On this note, composer Jim Lang confirmed that Netflix, Amazon and Apple have expressed an interest in reviving the beloved show.

Lang was a guest on the Tunes/Toons podcast to discuss his work on various TV show and films, but he also hatted about his time on Hey Arnold!

During the interview, he said that Nickelodeon won’t be pursuing any new seasons after the most recent film, Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie, failed to set the box-office alight.

This being said, there is some hope for the show being picked up by a few online streaming services.

“Netflix, Amazon, Apple were all people that they were going to go out to with the idea of trying to make a season six of Hey Arnold! We haven’t heard anything yet but we’ve got our fingers crossed,” he said.

What a time to be alive.
