Welcome to #TRAILERCHEST, where we’re taking a look at the brand new trailer for Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw.
As the title implies, this baby is indeed part of the increasingly insane box office phenomenon that is the Fast and the Furious series.
The first official spin-off unites The Rock (Hobbs) and Jason Statham (Shaw) for their very own isolated adventure.
If you’re not up to speed it doesn’t really matter but the gist is that The Rock was brought in (the fifth one) to hunt down Vin Diesel’s team, before Jason Statham showed up (the seventh one, but also crowbarred into the very end of the sixth one) to try and kill the good guys.
He failed, and became a good guy of his own along the way, despite murdering a fan favourite in cold blood by way of his introduction in a move that will almost certainly be retconned at some point.
Anyway, they have chemistry together so here we are.

As with the initial teaser, Hobbs & Shaw is really leaning into the more insane aspects of F&F.
We’re not quite in outer space just yet, but we do have Idris Elba as a genetically enhanced supervillain for the lads to try and take down.
And that’s pretty much it. It’s got The Rock lassoing a helicopter. What more do you need?
