Horizon Line, a nail-biting and very fun action thriller movie, is airing on TV tonight (Friday, 27 March).
Released in 2020, the movie stars Allison Williams (Get Out, M3GAN) and Alexander Dreymon (The Last Kingdom) as two recent exes, who hop on board the same small plane. This is to take them to their friend's wedding on a remote island near Mauritius.
When the pilot (played by one of the all-time great character actors, Keith David) mid-flight suddenly drops dead from a heart attack, however, the pair are left without a way to fly or land the plane safely.
Adding to the terror is the huge tropical storm on the horizon, directly between the exes and their destination.
Horizon Line comes from the writers of 10 Cloverfield Lane and producer Jaume Collet-Serra, known for directing the Blake Lively shark flick The Shallows and the Netflix action hit Carry-On.
We'd recommend the movie for fans of survival thrillers that trap their heroes in perilous, life-and-death situations. This is before piling a ton of obstacles in the characters' way, forcing them to use their wits to survive.
Without spoiling, Dreymon and Williams' characters are certainly put through the wringer in Horizon Line.
Also, despite being set around Mauritius (which looks the part), large parts of the film were surprisingly filmed in Dublin.
Horizon Line is airing on TV tonight on Film4 at 10.50pm. It will also be available to stream on Channel 4's website from Saturday, 28 March.
