It is time to return to the world of Game of Thrones!

You can also read this article in High Valyrian right here.

It has been three years since Game of Thrones came to an end, and fans of the epic fantasy drama have been patiently waiting to get back to the world of Westeros ever since.

The wait is finally over, as we’re about to get that return, thanks to House of the Dragon, a new chapter in the Game Of Thrones saga, which will stream weekly with a NOW Entertainment Membership.

Here are five reasons we’re VERY excited to check the new series out…

ONE – The Setting:

We know that the action within House of the Dragon will take place over 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, so we’ll see a whole new side to the Seven Kingdoms. We get to immerse ourselves in a new fantastical environment. Bring it on.

TWO – The Cast:

By the time Game Of Thrones ended, every major performer in the show had been transformed into huge stars in their own right, and that will likely be the same with House of the Dragon. Newer performers aside, this show is kicking off with a stacked assembly, including Paddy Considine, Olivia Cooke, Matt Smith, Rhys Ifans and Emma D’Arcy.

Three – Behind The Scenes:

The very first episode of House of the Dragon will be directed by Miguel Sapochnik, who has previously won numerous awards for directing some of the biggest and best episodes of Game of Thrones, including the infamous ‘Battle of the Bastards’. Sapochnik also doubles as an executive producer on the new series, so he’ll be bringing that expertise to all aspects behind-the-scenes.

Four – Nobody Knows What Will Happen:

The story of House of the Dragon is based on George R. R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood, but the creators of the show have already stated that while the book is definitely tied to their scripts, it will not be a direct adaptation.

So, even if you have read the book, you’ll still likely be very surprised by some of the events of the show. As we all know, the world of Westeros loves nothing more than an out-of-nowhere plot twist.

Five – What Is To Come:

The drama at the centre of House of the Dragon is set within House Targaryen, one of the most powerful houses within the entire history of Westeros. And pretty much everyone within that family has their own dragon, and some – to put it gently – family dramas to deal with. Knowing all of that, we’re already off-the-charts excited for some intense dragon-filled action…

House of the Dragon is available to stream weekly with a NOW Entertainment Membership.
