Rest in peace, Doris Day.
Legendary actress and singer Doris Day has passed away at the age of 97.
Among her famous roles in movies like Calamity Jane and Pillow Talk, she is also remembered for having a with the iconic song ‘Que Sera Sera (Whatever Will Be Will Be).’ She was one of last remaining stars of what is considered to be “the Golden Age” of Hollywood.
In addition to her career in performance, Day was also a philanthropist and founded the Doris Day Animal Foundation.
The foundation confirmed her death today, issuing a statement which said she had been “in excellent physical health for her age, until recently contracting a serious case of pneumonia”.
“She was surrounded by a few close friends as she passed,” the statement continued.
