The iconic filmmaker Werner Herzog is coming to Dublin in May

It’s not often you’ll get the chance to see the unique Werner Herzog in the flesh, but…

Werner Herzog is one of the most iconic figures in the worlds of both cinema and literature, and he’s coming to Dublin in May as part of the International Literature Festival Dublin.

‘An Evening With Cult Hero Werner Herzog’ will take place in the National Concert Hall in Dublin on Sunday 21 May, with tickets priced at €25 or concession €22.50 available here.

Herzog made his first film aged 19 and has gone on to produce, write, and direct 70 films including the celebrated Encounters at the End of the World (2007), Grizzly Man (2005),  Fitzcarraldo (1982) for which he won Best Director at Cannes Film Festival, and The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser (1972).

The critically-acclaimed German currently has 50 awards to his name, with Time Magazine naming him as one of the 100 most influential people on the planet in 2009.
