Show producers are said to be on “high alert” ahead of the final.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is dealing with a Covid-19 outbreak just days before the King or Queen of the Jungle is announced.
ITV bosses are reported to have ramped up safety measures, including staff wearing masks around the campsite at all times, following two workers testing positive for the virus earlier this week.
A tent where hot drinks and snacks were sold to those working on-site is also said to have been shut down so it could be disinfected to prevent further outbreaks.
A source told The Sun that everyone is a “high alert” given the end of the season is quickly approaching.
“The producers have grand plans to make the final bigger than ever so no one is seen without a mask and there have been loads more people queueing up to get themselves tested on site,” the source revealed.
“The team also closed down the night shift tent which sells snacks and drinks to the crew in order to give it a deep clean.
“Safety is paramount on a show of this scale and bosses are sure that the strict measures they have in place will mean that the final will still go ahead as planned.”
A spokesperson for ITV confirmed to various publications that a couple of production team members have tested positive for Covid.
“The protocols we have in place for such an eventuality have been implemented and filming has continued as we adhere to all Covid guidelines,” they said.
“We have stringent measures in place across site, safety is paramount on the show.
It has been said that the finale will not be affected by these concerns.
Chris Moyles was voted out on Thursday night, with the seventh star due to exit on Friday evening.
Jill Scott, Matt Hancock, Owen Warner, Seann Walsh and Mike Tindall remain.
Bookies currently favour footballer Jill Scott or Hollyoaks star Owen Warner to win.
