James Buckley apologises to fans of The Inbetweeners that felt ‘let down’ by the recent reunion

He’s knee-deep in an apology.

When it comes to Jay’s defining characteristics, you wouldn’t say that honesty was one of the most pressing ones.

This being said, there was something oddly moving about that scene where he broke down in tears after Chloe broke up with him.

“She was like a fridget and she wouldn’t have a threesome with this top model… and my cock was too big for her,” sobbed Jay as he poured his filthy and broken heart out for his mates to hear.

Well, despite the fact that Channel 4 clearly billed the recent reunion of The Inbetweeners as a panel show where the entire cast would get together, swap stories, and reminisce about the beloved show, some people were left disappointed.

Why?  Well, they wanted a new episode featuring Will, Simon, Neil and Jay.

The reunion itself was fine – the part about the show’s original pilot and how it changed is very interesting – but you can’t please everybody.

On this note, James Buckley (Jay) took to Twitter to address some of the criticisms that the group has faced.

“Feeling pretty hated right now,” he began.

“I’m sorry to anyone who feels let down with last night’s show. I’m especially upset as it really is the fans that made The Inbetweeners a success, it certainly wasn’t me.

“I might do an explanation video on my YT, or might just leave it and move on,” he added.

At the end of the night, host Jimmy Carr asked Buckley if he fancied making a third Inbetweeners film and he said ‘yes’ in an instant.

Well, here’s hoping that any future reunions can capture the magic of what made the comedy so beloved.
